***  During the 2010-2011 school year the district has implemented 5 furlough days.  These furlough days are an attempt by the district office to save money.  It also means your child will miss out on school and instruction days.

Swine Flu- the best defense is to teach your child to wash his/her hands after he/she uses the bathroom, blows his/her nose, and before eating.  Teaching your child to cover his/her month when coughing or sneezing, along with using a tissue instead of his/her sleeve will prevent the spread of any disease.

Identity Theft: Please be aware of this Identity theft scam- in the event a person calls you and claims to work for the jury selection committee- do not give them any personal information.  This person calls and claims that you missed your jury duty date.  When you tell him that you did not receive a summons- he will ask for your birth-date and social security number to check his files.  If you receive a call like this report it to the police department.

Volunteers are needed for Meal on Wheels.  New Volunteer Orientation classes are held every Friday at 2:00, at 270 ‘F’ St.  Ste. 22,  Chula Vista, CA 91910.  Call Bernie (619) 420-2782 to find out more.  I have delivered Meals on Wheels to National City seniors and shut ins for the past two years.  This is a very rewarding experience- one the entire family can do!
