I was born and raised in National City. As a product of the National School District I am proud to teach and continue to live in National City. After obtaining my teaching certificate from San Diego State I substitute taught in five districts before being hired full-time by National School District. I have taught First Grade in room D-5 since 1997. I enjoy teaching First Grade because I honestly believe it is the most exciting time for academic and social growth for your child. First Grade is where your child will learn the fundamental basics that will ensure his/her future academic success. I believe in your child and continue to grow as a teacher through professional growth opportunities, professional readings, and teacher dialogue.
When I am not teaching I enjoy reading for pleasure, working in my yard, keeping fit, and visiting with my family and friends. Shopping, especially for shoes, is one of my least favorite pass times. I like flamingos and manatees, and I collect rocks from around the world. I volunteer for Meals on Wheels-delivering to seniors and shut-ins in National City. I have always been active in my church.
I have two adult daughters of whom I am very proud of their independence and accomplishments. However the apple of my eye is my grand-daughter!
That’s me in a web-blog!

Hi Jesse,
Yes, I remember you.
I wish you well in Seventh Grade!
It is fun to keep in contact with your former teachers. Over the years I have kept in touch with my former 3rd and 4th grade teachers. In fact Mrs. Lockhart was my 3rd grade teacher. We
have dinner together about every 2 months.
